Feature release: Time Log

Time management is an admin headache. Now you can ditch the paper time sheets with Time Log.

Time Log is there to help you manage your employees’ working hours and time worked on projects in bob. It’s super-simple and is designed to be used on the go. So no more estimated time sheets at the end of the month.

Making it easier to manage your people’s time

  • Collect real-time info on when people are ‘at work’
  • Have time allocated to projects, as they go
  • Easily see average check-in and check-out times
  • Check billable Vs non-billable hours to improve profitability

 

HOW IT WORKS

Look for the stopwatch icon in the bob sidebar. It’s called ‘Time Log’.

 

When you look at Time Log, you’ll see that it’s split it up into two areas:

 

  • Attendance – who’s in and who’s out, and;
  • Projects – what they’re working on.

 

Depending on your business needs, use either or both of them.

Employees easily clock in and clock out using the big card – just like an old fashioned punchcard. bob measures the time to the second.

 

Forget to clock in? No problem. Everyone gets to view and edit their own entries from the list on screen, and can edit them.

 

Employees can also filter their list by date, view their average working hours, and see a total of hours worked for the dates selected.

 

Company Attendance (visible to managers and admins only)

As a manager or admin, you need an overview of your teams, so you can see trends and totals.

This means that you can see who is working right now, and what they’re working on. Simple and elegant charts show average working time for departments, and individuals within specific time periods. Concerned that someone on your team might be over-doing it? Now you’ll know.

 

Should you need to, you’re also able to click on an individual employee to add time on their behalf, or edit time already recorded.

 

You can filter the time entries list by date range, department, or specific person, and view the average and total working hours for your teams to create your own reports – which you can then download.

 

Projects are set up to suit you

 

Do you bill your clients by the hour, or need to know if your people’s time is profitable? Using Time Log Projects will help.

Setting up projects within Time Log means that you can:

 

  • Create projects, and assign them to clients
  • Have employees record work on a project in real-time, or enter retrospective data
  • View stats for project work, to see who’s been working on what and when
  • Click on view/edit time to view the time worked on each project
  • Filter by a specific person or department, and view average or total time worked in your chosen time range

 

Switch Time Log on or off

Remember, you can always turn off features (including Time Log) in Settings > Manage features. Here’s how.
